建築學會五十年略史
建築學會五十年略史は、明治19年の造家学会の創立から、明治30年の建築学会への名称変更、その後の昭和10年に至るまでの学会の歴史を、全154頁で紹介したもので、昭和11年4月に刊行されている。略史編纂に関する特別委員長は、日本人初の英国公認建築士で工学博士の櫻井小太郎（1870-1953）である。時代区分は、創立期、造家学会時代、法人設立（明治38年1月）まで、明治末年まで、大正時代、昭和時代に分けられ、各時代の学会での出来事などが回想されている。また、講演会での題目と演者（明治19年から）、見学会（大正15年から）、大会（明治23年から）での講演や見学会が、昭和10年まで詳細に列記されており、各時代での建築観、争点、出来事、着目されている建物がよくわかる。略史とはいえ、学会の軌跡が克明に記された貴重書である。

History of AIJ
A Summarized 50 Year History of AIJ (154 pages) published in April 1936 introduces its history from the foundation of the House Building Institute in 1886, with the name being changed to the Architectural Institute of Japan in 1897, to 1935. The special committee for compiling the history was chaired by Kotaro Sakurai (1870-1953), the first Japanese bestowed with the title of a chartered architect. The history is divided into six periods: foundation time, time of House Building Institute, time until the establishment of a corporation (January 1905), time until the end of the Meiji Period, Taisho Period, and Showa Period. Events in each period are reviewed. Also, the titles and speakers at lecture meetings (since 1886), construction site visits (since 1926), and lecture meetings and site visits during annual conferences (since 1890) are listed in detail until 1935, clarifying the philosophy of architecture, issues in dispute, events, and buildings attracting attention in each period. Though just a summarized history, this is a valuable book precisely depicting the footsteps of AIJ.

建築學會70年略史
建築學會70年略史は、50年略史の刊行（昭和11年）から後の20年間にわたる学会活動を主に取り上げたもので、全56頁で構成され、昭和31年に刊行されている。出版に関わる部会の主査を務めたのは、東京美術学校（現東京藝術大学）教授の森井健介である。計20頁を学会の事業紹介に費やしており、中でも昭和13年度から設けられた学会賞の歴代受賞者の一覧は見応えがある。受賞者には、アントニン・レーモンド、前川国男、丹下建三、村野藤吾、山田守、坂倉準三など、現代建築の礎を築いたそうそうたる面々が名を連ねる。第二次世界大戦後の暗い時代を含め、戦前戦後に本会が建築の研究の振興と技術の向上に果たした役割を知ることのできる重要な史料である。

A Summarized 70 Year History of AIJ
published in 1956 covers the 20 year period after the publication of the 50 year history in 1936. Kensuke Morii, professor at Tokyo Fine Arts School (current Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music), directed the committee in charge of the history publication. Twenty pages out of 56 are devoted to the introduction of AIJ’s activities. The lists of the recipients of the AIJ Prizes, which began in 1938, are particularly impressive. They include outstanding figures who laid the foundations for contemporary architecture in Japan, such as Antonin Raymond, Kunio Maekawa, Kenzo Tange, Togo Murano, Mamoru Yamada, and Junzo Sakakura. This book provides important historical data that make the reader recognize the significant role of AIJ in promoting research and enhancing technology in the architectural field before and after WWII, including the dark times after the war.

日本建築学会80年略史
日本建築学会80年略史は、昭和31年に刊行した70年略史から以後の10年間を取り上げたもので、全94頁で構成され、昭和41年に刊行されている。創立80周年記念委員会80年略史分科会の主査を務めたのは、東京工業大学教授の藤岡通夫である。内容は、沿革、事業、業績展望、学会と関係機関団体、事務局のこと、の5項目で構成されている。これまでは、建築家や建築作品など、学会を取り巻く建築界の展望に目を向ける傾向があったが、この本では、学会と関係機関との関わりや事務局体制など、学会自体のネットワーク作りや担うべき役割についても言及している点が特徴である。会員数が急増し、事業も増加する中で、事務局の果たす役割が大きくなりサポート体制の強化が示され、支部も置かれるなど、新たな時代における学会の役割が知られる重要な史料である。

80 Years’ History of AIJ (1886-1966)
This 94-page history published in 1966 covers the decade after the 70 years’ history issued in 1956. Professor Michio Fujioka of Tokyo Institute of Technology chaired the 80 Years’ History Subcommittee of the 80-year Anniversary Committee. The history consists of five chapters: the history, undertaking, achievement overview, related institutions, and secretarial office. While the earlier editions tended to focus on the view of the architectural field surrounding AIJ, such as architects and architectural works, this book is characterized by descriptions on its networking and role to be played, such as relationships with related organizations and the secretariat system. This is an important document written when AIJ entered a new age when the number of members rapidly increased, with the number of projects also increasing. It describes the greater role of AIJ in the new age with a strengthened support system and new branches organized.

日本建築学会90年略史
「日本建築学会90年略史」は、昭和51年（1976）に創立90周年を迎えた日本建築学会の創立90周年記念事業の一環として編纂され、翌1977年に『建築雑誌　臨時増刊号』として刊行されたものである。「90年略史部会」の部会長をつとめた稲垣栄三・東京大学教授の巻頭言によれば、「90年略史は、70年・80年略史の編纂方法をそのまま踏襲している」。両略史には「過去の歩みの記録が過不足なく納められ」ているので「創立以後の80年についてはほぼこれらの記載をそのまま収録し、その後の10年の記録を新たに付加することとした」という。しかし再録部分にも加筆修正や新たに添えた写真などがかなり見られ、付加部分の年表からは昭和40年代が超高層ビルの建設と旧三菱一号館等の取壊しが並行して現れた時代であったことなどが読み取れる。正味70頁であるが、2段組みのため、１段組み94頁の80年略史より密度は濃くなっている。50年・70年・80年・90年略史にざっと目を通すだけで、時代によるさまざまな変化、数次にわたる建築会館の変遷、種々の催しや各種の賞の設置を含む事業内容の変化等を知ることができ、また日本建築学会が時勢を超えて一貫した体制を維持してきたことも窺われる。会員数は50周年時の8,000人から90周年時には４倍の32,000人まで増大している。それまでの略史が独立した小冊子であったのに対し、90年略史を会誌の臨時増刊号としたのは、「最近の郵便料の値上がり等の事情による」ものだったという。昭和48年11月の理事会で事務局へのコンピュータ導入が決定されたという小さな記載にも目がとまる。「日本建築学会90 年略史」は他の略史ともども、時代の趨勢と建築学会の関係を知ることのできる貴重な史料となっている。

90-year Summary History of AIJ
The 90-year Summary History of AIJ was compiled in 1976 as part of its 90th anniversary celebrations and published in 1977 as an extra edition of the Journal of Architecture and Building Science. In his prefatory note, Prof. Eizo Inagaki of the University of Tokyo says the summary history adheres to the editorial policy of the 70- and 80-year summary histories, which contain the records of the institute in just proportions. The descriptions about the first 80 years since the founding are “included in this as they are, while records of the subsequent decade were newly added.” However, substantial additions, corrections and new pictures are found in the rerecorded portions. The chronology of the last decade shows that it was the time when the advent of skyscrapers and the demolition of the old Mitsubishi Ichigokan Building were concurrent. Despite its thinner appearance of a net volume of 70 pages, the 90-year history has a richer content, due to the double-block format, than the 80-year history of 94 pages with its single-block format. Just flipping through the 50-, 70-, 80- and 90-year histories provides a grasp of various changes with time, transitions of the AIJ Building and changes in the activities of AIJ including various events and new prizes. These histories also suggest that the institute has maintained a constant framework throughout the years. The number of members quadrupled from 8,000 at the 50th anniversary to 32,000 at the 90th anniversary. While the former histories were separate booklets, the 90-year history was published as an extra edition of the journal “due to the latest hike in postage rates.” A short article describing the board’s decision to introduce computers to the secretariat in November 1973 is also noteworthy. Along with other summary histories, the 90-year Summary History of AIJ is a valuable document allowing one to grasp the relationship between the trends of the times and AIJ.

日本建築学会100年略史（1886～1985）
日本建築学会創立100周年事業の一環として1990年3月に刊行された。本学会の一世紀の貴重な記録である。本編は第１編 日本建築学会100年の記録（p1-88）、第２編 活動(p89-186)、第３編 創立100周年記念事業(p187-232)、第４編 旧建築会館記録保存調査(p233-268)、第５編 日本建築学会年表資料(p269-340) 、付録に日本建築学会刊行物一覧（単行書・支部刊行物・逐次刊行物）(p341-353)で構成される。プロローグは創立者の写真に始まり、活動や会館の写真で100年を振り返る。

100-year History of the AIJ: 1886-1985
This is a valuable record of the AIJ’s first century published in March 1990 as part of its 100th anniversary celebrations. It consists of Part 1 on its 100-year record (pp. 1-88), Part 2 on its activities (pp. 89-186), Part 3 on the 100th year anniversary celebrations (pp. 187-232), Part 4 on record preservation research of the former Kenchiku Kaikan (AIJ Building) (pp. 233-268), Part 5 on the AIJ’s chronological data (pp. 269-340), and an appendix containing a list of the AIJ’s publications (books, publications from branches, and serials) (pp. 341-353). Beginning with a portrait of the founder, the prologue reviews the centennial by showing photographs of its activities and the institute building during this period.

日本建築学会120年略史（1886～2006）
建築学会120年略史は『建築雑誌』の増刊（第122巻1556号）として2007年1月に刊行された。山口廣を編纂部会長とし、Ⅰ.120年の歩み、Ⅱ.沿革、Ⅲ.事業の記録、Ⅳ.年表、Ⅴ.100年以降の動き、の全5章、116頁からなる。第1章は学会の変遷を5期に分け概説している。第2章は学会の設立をめぐり原資料の確認を徹底して、資料性が高い。また第5章では、基準法、環境問題や震災など学会を取り巻く新たな社会的問題への着眼を促している。

120-year Summary History of the AIJ
The 120-year Summary History of the AIJ was published in January 2007 as an extra edition of the Journal of Architecture and Building Science (Vol. 122, No. 1,556). This 116-page publication compiled by a committee chaired by Hiroshi Yamaguchi consists of five chapters: Chapter I covers the AIJ’s journey over the past 120 years, Chapter II its history, Chapter III a record of its undertakings, Chapter IV a chronological table, and Chapter V happenings since the centennial. Chapter I summarizes the changes of the institute across five periods. Chapter II is rated as being valuable as a historical resource, with thorough verification of source documents, for the accounts of the background of the AIJ’s establishment. Chapter V urges readers to focus on new social issues related to the AIJ, including the Building Standards Act, environmental issues, and earthquake disasters.

日本建築学会130年略史（1886～2016）
日本建築学会130年略史は『建築雑誌』の増刊（第132巻1693号）として2017年1月に刊行された。藤井恵介を編纂部会長とし、Ⅰ．130年をたどるために、Ⅱ．東日本大震災、Ⅲ．学会とこの10年、の全3章・58頁からなる。本略史は『日本建築学会120年略史』を引き継ぎ、この10年間の記述に限定している。

130-year Summary History of the AIJ
The 130-year Summary History of the AIJ was published in January 2017 as an extra edition of the Journal of Architecture and Building Science (Vol. 132,No. 1693). This 58-page publication compiled by a committee chaired by Keisuke Fujii consists of three chapters: Chapter I covers how to trace back the 130 years, Chapter II the Great East Japan Earthquake, and Chapter III the past decade with AIJ. Succeeding the 120-year Summary History of the AIJ, the scope of the description is limited to the last ten years.

25年の歩み
『25年のあゆみ』は日本建築学会北海道支部の創設25周年を記念して、支部の創設された昭和23年から昭和47年までの活動をまとめたもので、全48頁で構成され、昭和48年に刊行されている。編集にあたっては、横山尊雄を編集委員長とし、酒井良男、栄米治、吉田三郎平、佐藤隆次、馬場智の5名の編集委員が担当している。 本文は、支部長のあいさつから始まり、25周年のあゆみをまとめた年表、会員の動向、歴代役員及び歴代支部長のプロフィール、谷重雄、西忠雄、木村徳国、堀江悟郎、浅野新一ら北海道で活躍された諸先生による回想記、そして、最後に北海道の建築活動についての座談会の記録がまとめられている。その内容はいずれも興味深く、北海道支部の歩みを詳細に知ることができるだけではなく、北海道という地域の建築の戦後史を記した貴重な史料ともいえるものである。

Quarter Century of AIJ Hokkaido
Quarter Century of AIJ Hokkaido summarizes the activities of AIJ Hokkaido from its foundation in 1948 to 1972, commemorating the 25th anniversary. This 48-page book published in 1973 was compiled by the editorial committee of five members, Yoshio Sakai, Yoneji Sakae, Saburobei Yoshida, Ryuji Sato, and Satoshi Baba, chaired by Takao Yokoyama. The main text begins with a greeting by the president of the chapter, followed by a chronology of its 25 year history, trend of members, and profiles of former presidents and officers. It also includes retrospectives by professors who were active in Hokkaido, such as Shigeo Tani, Tadao Nishi, Norikuni Kimura, Goro Horie, and Shin-ichi Asano, and finally a summary of the record of a discussion meeting on the architectural activities in Hokkaido. 日本建築学会東北支部30年略史
日本建築学会東北支部30年略史は、昭和53年2月の支部創設から30年間の活動を記録したもので、30周年事業実行委員会（委員長：高橋武雄、委員：小堀好之、坂田泉、鈴谷二郎、谷川正巳）の編集によるものである。1．役員、2．研究委員会、3．事業活動、4．支所、5．事務局、の5章で構成され、全102頁からなる。研究委員会の章では各部会ごとに「研究活動概要」を記し、本書の特徴となっている。事業活動は、研究発表会、講演会、見学会、講習会、展示会、競技設計、全国大会、その他、の8項目ごとに時系列で詳細な記録が作成されていて、支部活動の全貌を知ることができる。当初は懇談会形式だったという研究発表会がしだいに拡充していく様子など、その後の支部の歩みを読み取ることができ、充実した記録をもとに構成された基礎的資料として貴重である。

30-year Summary History of AIJ Tohoku
The 30-year Summary History of AIJ Tohoku records the activities of the branch for the 30 years from its establishment in February 1978. It was compiled by the Executive Committee for the 30th Anniversary Celebration consisting of Takeo Takahashi (Chairman), Yoshiyuki Kobori, Izumi Sakata, Jiro Suzuya and Masami Tanigawa. This book of 102 pages is made up of five chapters: 1 (Board members), 2 (Technical committees), 3 (Branch activities), 4 (Sub-offices) and 5 (Secretariat). The chapter on the technical committees includes summaries of the research activities of working groups, which characterize this book. The chapter on the branch activities provides detailed records of the presentation meetings, lecture meetings, observation tours, seminars, exhibitions, design competitions, national conventions and so forth in chronological order, presenting a complete picture of the activities. It provides a sense of the progress of the branch, such as the initial roundtable sessions of presentation meetings developing into large symposia. This summary history provides valuable basic data based on thoroughly accumulated records.

日本建築学会関東支部30年略史
『日本建築学会関東支部30年略史』は、支部30周年記念事業の一つとして刊行された。昭和22年11月の創立から昭和52年11月までの30年を取り上げたもので、全131頁からなる。学会関東支部の足跡を克明に刻む貴重な史料である。構成は、全4章からなり、第1章が沿革、第2章が設立30周年記念座談会、第3章が事業活動、第4章が記録である。記念事業委員会委員長は榎並昭、略史部会の主査は山口廣と田中彌寿雄である。榎並は、「刊行のことば」で、資料の散逸や人々の記憶が薄らいできていることから記念事業を企画し、中核となるのが略史であると記している。研究委員会で注目されるのは、昭和27年設置のソビエト建築研究会を前身とするソビエト建築部会で、4頁に渡って紹介されている。当初の委員には、大河直躬や川添登他が名を連ねている。

30-year Summary History of AIJ Kanto
The 30-year Summary History of AIJ Kanto was published as part of the branch’s 30th anniversary celebrations, covering the period from November 1947 to November 1977. This is a valuable document detailing the footsteps of the Kanto Branch of AIJ. The 131-page book consists of 4 chapters: 1 (Branch history), 2 (30th Anniversary Memorial Discussion), 3 (Branch activities) and 4 (Records). The chairman of the Anniversary Celebration Committee was Akira Enami, and the chiefs of the summary history working group were Hiroshi Yamaguchi and Yasuo Tanaka. In his preface, Enami says that the anniversary celebrations were planned because documents and memories were beginning to be lost, and this summary history formed the core of the celebrations. Notable technical committees include the Soviet Architecture Working Group developed from the Study Group for Soviet Architecture organized in 1952, which is introduced over 4 pages. The initial members include Naomi Okawa and Toya Kawazoe.

日本建築学会東海支部設立45周年略史
日本建築学会東海支部設立45周年略史は、昭和6年の創立から昭和51年までの45年間の東海地方における学会関連の動向や学会支部の活動の概要をまとめたもので、東海支部初めての記念行事のひとつとして刊行されたものである。構成は、第一篇概史、第二篇沿革、第三篇東海地方における建築教育のあゆみ、附篇からなる。編集顧問は、名城大学の城戸久、編集委員長は名古屋工業大学の宮野秋彦である。概史は、名古屋高等工業学校を中心に普及した建築の経緯、文化創設会（後の名古屋中央建築会）の設立趣意、東海支部建築展覧会、東海地方における設計競技などを紹介しており、当時の東海地方における建築や学会の様子を知ることができる。第二篇、第三篇では、それらをさらに詳しく紹介している。巻末の年表を含め、地方で建築が果たしてきた役割の重みを知ることのできる貴重な史料である。

Summary History at the 45th Anniversary of AIJ Tokai
The Summary History at the 45th Anniversary of AIJ Tokai, which was published as part of its first commemorative event, summarizes the trends related to AIJ and activities of AIJ Tokai in the Tokai Region during the 45 years from the foundation of the chapter in 1931 to 1976. This book consists of Part 1 describing the general history, Part 2, the history of AIJ Tokai, Part 3, the development of architectural education in the Tokai Region, and an Appendix. The editorial committee was advised by Hisashi Kido of Meijo University and chaired by Akihiko Miyano of Nagoya Institute of Technology. The general history summarizes the development of architecture centering on Nagoya Higher Technical School (名古屋高等工業学校), the prospects of foundation of the Culture Creation Association(文化創設会) (later Nagoya Central Architectural Association(名古屋中央建築会)), Architectural Exhibition of AIJ Tokai, and design competitions in the Tokai Region, etc., providing information about the state of architecture and AIJ in the Region at the time. Parts 2 and 3 describe these in more detail. This book, including the chronology at the end, is a valuable document that tells the importance of the role of architecture in the provinces.

日本建築学会北陸支部30年略史
日本建築学会北陸支部30年略史は、昭和53年3月に刊行され全86頁からなり、Ⅰ.北陸支部小史、Ⅱ.支部活動一般、Ⅲ.支部研究発表活動、Ⅳ.支部研究報告集総目次、Ⅴ.歴代支部長座談会、Ⅵ.30周年記念事業、の6章で構成されている。編集は渡部貞清、城谷豊両編集委員によるもので、「北陸支部小史」の章に記されているように、学術研究の発表体系の確立、活動記録の整備、建築学会全体との関係、に力点が置かれまとめられている。設立当初における岸田日出刀（当時学会長）の指導、二度の全国大会（金沢（昭和37年）、福井（昭和49年））、教育機関の発展・整備、業界との関係など、支部活動が充実、拡大していく過程が記録された貴重な資料である。歴代支部長による座談会はその生きた証言で、とくに興味深い内容となっている。「北陸支部30年・略年表」（p.40）を含む。

30-year Summary History of AIJ Hokuriku
The 30-year Summary History of AIJ Hokuriku comprising 86 pages was published in March 1978 and consists of 6 chapters: I (A short history of the Hokuriku Branch), II (General branch activities), III (Research publication from the branch), IV (General table of contents of the proceedings of branch presentation meetings), V (Roundtable talk by former branch managers) and VI (30th Anniversary celebrations). This history was compiled by two editors, Sadakiyo Watanabe and Yutaka Shiroya, with emphasis placed on the establishment of the system of publishing research results, streamlining of the activity records and relationship with the whole AIJ, as described in the chapter “A Short History of the Hokuriku Branch.” This is a valuable document recording the process of expansion including the instructions of Hideto Kishida (then the president of AIJ) at the time of the branch’s formation, the two national conventions of AIJ in Kanazawa (1962) and Fukui (1974), development and preparation of educational organizations and relationship with the industry. The roundtable talk by former branch managers is particularly interesting as a witness of the progress of the branch. “A Summary Chronology - 30 years of AIJ Hokuriku” is included on page 40.

日本建築学会近畿支部30年
『近畿支部30年』は、昭和22年の創立から昭和52年までの30年を取り上げたもので、全14頁からなる。近畿支部の果たしてきた役割を垣間見ることのできる、貴重な史料である。構成は、主に支部の沿革と活動年表からなる。編集は、30周年記念事業委員会で担当し、事業委員長は福田朝生、名誉顧問は坂静雄、顧問は横尾義貫、足立孝、支部長は尭天義久である。沿革は、昭和22年11月29日の支部発表会並びに支部発会式にはじまり、昭和38年8月1日に2度目の移転をし、専任の職員を置くまでの概略がまとめられている。支部活動は、年表形式でまとめられ、会員数、大会、研究発表会開催の要点・発表題数、各委員会活動について記載されている。巻末には、「30年を語る」と題して、坂静雄を始めとする歴代支部長の座談会の要約が掲載されている。

30 Years of AIJ Kinki Branch
The 14-page booklet 30 Years of AIJ Kinki Branch, which covers the 30 years from its establishment in 1947 to 1977, is a valuable document offering a glimpse of the role played by the Kinki Branch. This booklet mainly consisting of the history and activity chronology of the Branch was compiled by the 30th Anniversary Celebration Committee, which comprised Tomoo Fukuda, the chairman, Shizuo Saka, the honorary advisor, Yoshitsura Yokoo and Takashi Adachi, the advisors, and Yoshihisa Gyoten, the branch manager. The branch history summarizes events including the opening announcement and ceremony on November 29, 1947, the second relocation on August 1, 1963, and the assignment of dedicated staff members. The branch activities are summarized in the form of a chronology containing the number of members, key points and number of presentations in annual conferences and presentation meetings, and activities of technical committees. At the end of this booklet is a summary of a roundtable talk of former branch managers including Shizuo Saka titled “Talking about the Past 30 Years.”

日本建築学会中国支部30年
日本建築学会中国支部30年史は、昭和14年創立からの30年間を取り上げたもので、全122頁で構成され、昭和45年に刊行されている。編集は、総務委員会幹事の坊敏之である。過去30年間の支部の歴史や歩みにとどまらず、中国支部内の村野藤吾、岸田日出刀、丹下健三、菊竹清訓他の「学会賞受賞建築作品」、「戦後の建築的意義のある建築」が冒頭に写真入りで紹介されている。創立当時を知る委員が回顧し、本部業務相談役の高杉造酒太郎が本部から見た中国支部の歩みについて執筆している他、年鑑や支部研究発表一覧など、学会の地方支部の歩みを詳細に知ることのできる貴重な史料である。

30 Year History of AIJ Chugoku Branch
This book of 122 pages published in 1970 deals with a 30-year period from the establishment of the Chugoku Branch in 1939. Toshiyuki Boh, an organizer of the General Affairs Committee, edited the book, introducing not only the history of the branch over 30 years but also works that won the AIJ Prize and significant postwar architecture designed by Togo Murano, Hideto Kishida, Kenzo Tange, Kiyonori Kikutake, and other architects, who are members of the Chugoku Branch. Committee members who know those days recall the establishment of the new branch, and Mikitaro Takasugi, an operational advisor at the Head Office, writes about the progress of the branch viewed from the Head Office. With yearbooks and lists of research presentations in the branch being included, it is a valuable document describing the progress of a local branch of AIJ in detail.
