建築工学ポケットブックは，昭和4年（1929年）に刊行された建築百科全書というべき書籍である。材料，構造，仕様積算，施工法はもちろんのこと，当時の最新の建築諸設備，諸建築の設計計画，建築法規，保険など，建築工学の技術を網羅している。また，メートル法施行によって，単位系をメートル法で統一して編集されており，数多くの資料を尺貫法からメートル法に改める状況をうかがい知ることのできる貴重な文献である。

Architectural Engineering Pocketbooks
Architectural Engineering Pocketbooks, which were initially published in 1929, can virtually be referred to as an “architectural encyclopedia.” It covers the whole spectrum of architectural engineering technologies, such as building materials, structural engineering, specifications/cost estimation, and construction methods, as well as then current architectural equipment, design planning methods for various structures, building regulations, and insurance. In line with the national implementation of the use of the metric system, the units are metricized throughout the text. These books are historically valuable also in that it evidences the context of shifting from the Japanese measuring system to the metric system.
