This paper presents the relative evaluation method on the slipperiness of handrails and grab-bars from the viewpoint of safety. Firstly, sensory tests on handrails and grab-bars are carried out and evaluation scales are made. Secondly, the estimate value composed of slip resistance measured by the slip meter developed in the former research and diameters of handrails and grab-bars corresponded to evaluation scales are showed. As a result, relationships between evaluation scales and estimate values are presented as the relative evaluation indexes on the slipperiness of handrails and grab-bars from the viewpoint of safety.
